A survey sponsored by hosting company Hostway in the UK among 1500 users showed that most people (75%) are not interested in surfing the web on their mobile phones. Reasons mentioned are not surprising at all:
- low speed
- navigation difficulties
- high charges
- web content not ready for mobile devices
A bit more surprising is that the mobile industry still wants to tell us that everything is in place for the mobile Internet. I think it is about time to admit that this is currently a no-show and the only way to address it is by doing something about the above four reasons.
