While all the major car manufacturers talk about it, BMW seems to simply do it now: launch its first commercially available electrical car - the MINI E in the US.
The battery details:
35kWh LiIon battery pack that is deployed in the back seat area, recharging time is 2.5h with a specially delivered charging box that plugs into the usual electrical home grid, reach is 250km, maximum speed is limited to 150km/h and accleration is 8.5sec from 0 to 100km/h.
